My Blog Log

MyBlogLog is many things to many people, but first and for most it a free service for anyone and everyone connected to blogging. It is a place to discover blogs and be discovered (Yep, that's the reason I'm there!). It is a place to contribute and distribute your highly sought after content. Ultimately, it is THE place to connect with millions of other people interested in you.

Did I mention it is owned by Yahoo...don't hold that against them. If you have a Yahoo ID you can use that to sign in.

Here is a break down of the basic features, of which I won't go into the paid services which are mostly for any blogger interested in detailed analytics of their visitors (what they click on, read, etc.)

The below examples are based upon my Marketing & Idea blog, so if you aren't into that type writing please skip over the links and ignore.

Your Profile: MyBlogLog allows you to build a profile of yourself, your websites, your likes, dislikes, communities, friends, and other services you use such as Facebook, Twitter, Delicious and more. Your profile is your hub from which you reach out to other MyBlogLog members and connect.

Widgets: My Blog Log offers several widgets (snippets of code) that you can add to your blog or website to display pictures of other MyBlogLog members who happen to visit your site. This is immensely powerful and in many marketing circles is referred to as social poof. No matter what you call it, it is pure heaven for bloggers to see other people visiting their blog. There are also widgets to display your profile page, other Web 2.0 services and more.

Communities: People can join and interact in your community, and would love to have you join theirs. This is probably one of the most powerful features of MyBlogLog in that it allows you to grow with in a community and benefit from your own and other member contributions.

Friends: Not unlike Facebook or other social networks you can publicly display your network of friends. Yet again another reason to expand your network through friends of friends.

Messaging: Send a private message, send a public message or send a message to your entire community. With ease you can communicate

If you blog what does MyBlogLog do for you?

MyBlogLog exposes you to more eye balls...period. It also will lead you to people you might not have discovered otherwise. Its a win win!
